August 30, 2012 - Arkansas Governor Beebe has ordered that the United States and Arkansas State flags will be flown at half-staff on Thursday, August 30, 2012 in honor of Marine Corps Private First Class James R. Maxwell of Conway County. During the Vietnam War, PFC Maxwell was involved in the Mayaguez Incident which his Marine Corps helicopter was shot down of the coast of Cambodia in 1975. His remains were finally returned to Arkansas for burial this week.

Wise, a native of El Dorado. He died in Landstuhl, Germany, earlier this month from wounds suffered while serving his country during combat in Afghanistan’s Balkh Province.
